The Center for Personalized Medicine and Division of Genomic Medicine in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine, Children’s Hospital Los Angeles (CHLA) and the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the Keck School of Medicine (KSOM) of the University of Southern California are seeking an outstanding candidate with expertise in the molecular genetics of childhood diseases as a full-time faculty member. The faculty member will have responsibilities in clinical testing development, research (clinical and translational), and teaching at the Assistant or Associate Professor level and will join a highly accomplished team with expertise in clinical and molecular genetics, cytogenetics and bioinformatics in the Center for Personalized Medicine. The successful candidate will participate in multi-disciplinary clinical teams working with colleagues in Anatomic Pathology, Laboratory Medicine, and clinical colleagues across a wide range of specialties at CHLA and KSOM. As Assistant/Associate Director of the Genome Core in the Center for Personalized Medicine, the faculty member will develop innovative laboratory based approaches for personalized care.
Applicants must have an MD, MD/PhD, D.O. or PhD degree with relevant expertise in Molecular Genetics, specifically next generation sequencing. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated track record of developing innovative solutions to solve complex health problems and in leading high functioning interdisciplinary teams working on complex tasks in rapidly evolving environments. Applicants must have demonstrated excellence in basic and/or translational research and its application to innovative clinical care and education. Salary is commensurate with qualifications, experience and scholarly accomplishments.
