Job Description and Responsibilities:

Allogene Therapeutics is seeking an independent and highly motivated individual to conduct studies to evaluate the efficacy and persistence of CAR T cells in the allogeneic setting. The successful applicant will provide scientific and technical expertise to investigate T cell and NK cell alloreactivity and develop assays to validate genetic modifications that may enhance the persistence of allogeneic CAR T cells. The ideal candidate is an individual who is excited to take on new challenges in a dynamic and highly collaborative environment.

  • Design and execute in vitro assays to assess mouse and human T and NK cell alloreactivity
  • Investigate genetic modifications that may prevent alloreactivity and/or sustain the persistence of CAR T cells in the allogeneic environment
  • Contribute to a collaborative group effort to advance next-generation AlloCAR T cell therapies into the clinic
  • Collaborate with other groups to develop assays to measure the frequency and specificity of alloreactive T cells in human PBMC samples and to inform future manufacturing process improvements for allogeneic CAR T cells
  • Stay abreast of latest scientific and technology advancements in the field
  • Train and mentor junior scientists and perform other duties as assigned
  • Present at group meetings and project team meetings

  • Knowledge of cellular and molecular immunology
  • Experience in immunocompetent mouse models and/or MLR assays preferred
  • Ability to design and execute studies to evaluate mouse and human CAR T cell activity in vitro and in vivo
  • Hands-on experience in retroviral/lentiviral transduction of mouse and human T cells preferred
  • Knowledge and experience in gene editing technologies including CRISPR/Cas9
  • Experience in immune cell isolation and proficiency in flow cytometry-based characterization of immune cells
  • Proactive attitude and strong desire to be part of a team working together to overcome obstacles
  • Strong oral presentation and communication skills
  • Candidates must be authorized to work in the U.S.
